Wouldn't you rather get behind the wheel of a great car knowing that the route had been thoroughly researched, that lunch is planned at an undiscovered village bistro, that a massage is already booked at your boutique luxury hotel, and that a kir royale and your fellow travellers will be waiting in the bar with and tales of adventure at the end of the day? Driving Adventures are exclusive small group luxury tours designed for travellers who appreciate the joys of the open road, who love the thrill of driving an exceptional car, who have a connoisseur’s taste for the finest a destination can provide and who relish the camaraderie of travelling with like-minded individuals. The itineraries are built around top-of-the-line cars and a sequence of exceptional roads that connect charming hotels, authentic local experiences and superb regional cuisine. Driven Travel’s goal is to put you in the right car and on the right road. Escorted Journeys - Once an itinerary has been researched, road-tested and deemed compelling enough to be included in our offerings, the final version will be fine-tuned by the trip planning team at Horizon. These itineraries will then by offered as small group departures (maximum of 20 participants) on specific dates as part of the ongoing Driving Adventure Series. All escorted departures will be led by Horizon's top guides. Independent Trips - Some of the of the Driving Adventure itineraries will be possible only with the arrangements and exclusive access that’s available to a group travelling together. Others will be offered on an Independent basis (i.e. without a guide and without a group). These Independent trips are designed for people who want the flexibility of travelling on their own and who still want to experience the superb itinerary design, great accommodations and signature quality of Horizon & Co.

We believe in being comfortable. Our trip researchers find the best places to stay along our routes, with accommodations ranging from famed hotels to tented camps and everything in between. When we are not in our cars, we plan leisurely diversions and unique events with local characters. We also enjoy the region's cuisine as part of food experiences that are exotic without being overwhelming to Western tastes. We plan meticulously. While you enjoy the moment, we're working behind the scenes to ensure that the expert naturalist has scouted the best wildlife-spotting trails, that the truffle hunter has his pigs ready for the hunt and that the wine-maker has opened the 20-year old Grand Cru in time to let it breath. Our hand-picked guides are trained to take care of every detail, whether it's helping with a phone call home or radioing a helicopter to make sure that we get back to our luxury lodge in time for your massage appointment. 	Imagine an old farmer standing in a sloping golden-hued field, face wizened by the sun, hands calloused by years of hard labour. He bends over the contorted root of an old vine and plucks a plump grape from the row. He holds it up to the sun and rolls it between his fingers, examining its density and ripeness, and then breaks it open to give you a taste of it sweetness. In that moment, when the juice makes contact with your tongue, you can sense instantly the terroir that emanates from the hallowed soil, a distinct and mystical element imparted to all the legendary wine of Burgundy that defies description - it must be tasted to be known. If you want to experience moments of pure magic, then travelling is an imperative, not a choice. As with the terroir of Burgundy, certain things need to be experienced in order to be known. 	People Like You. One of the greatest hurdles for people to get over in committing to take a small group tour is the notion that you will be travelling with a bunch of strangers. Of course, the easiest way to deal with this is to simply travel with friends and family on a private trip (see below), but if this isn't an option, at some point your going to have to close your eyes and take a leap of faith. To help you feel a little better about making the leap, we can assure you that the people attracted to unique travel experiences like Driven Driving Adventures are a little different than the stereotypical bus tourist. They tend to be a affluent without being pretentious, worldly without being annoying, and fun-loving without being party animals - is short, the kind of people you would invite to your house for a dinner party. Couple, Friends & Family. These trips are designed for men and women, travelling independently or together, who are looking to combine luxury travel with superb automobiles. These trips are built with enough range and flexibility that whether it is a father and son looking for a little quality time together, two sisters re-uniting behind the wheel of a BMW, or a group of friends celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary, everybody will have an opportunity to enjoy themselves. Private Trips. Driving Adventures are perfectly suited to small groups of friends and families looking to spend time together or corporate groups looking to push their limits or reward their top performers. Call us and we can take an existing itinerary and turn it into a private departure or we can build a completely custom trip from scratch - the choice is yours. It's not about the Group.  Even if it turns out that the other people on your trip are not potential friends-for-life, we structure our trips with enough flexibility and time on your own that you should be able to pursue your own agenda without having your style cramped by others.
